All things concerning the crew of the Autumn Vanguard, and the last days before its destruction.
Starship is a two-part concept album located somewhere in the bit-music family of genres (bitpop/fakebit), recorded originally in 2007-2009 and released as Starship to Candyland. I was 16 when I put it online, and this was the first big project I'd ever completed. I was heavily influenced by chip music at the time, listening to artists like 8bitbEtty, Saitone, Sabrepulse, Disasterpeace, and others.
I'm re-releasing this and the other half of the Starship project now, over a decade later, as a way to pay respects to the work I did as an sleep deprived, monomaic teen, newly obsessed with the magic of electronic music. Some aspects of it are rough and amateurish, but the blemishes are a part of its charm, and I'm ultimately proud of the sounds I made in this era.
